De Waterweg / Herbosch Kiere – Collision of container ship

Immediate inspection after collision.

Through the firm Herbosch-Kiere, contractor of hydraulic maintenance works for De Vlaamse Waterweg nv on the Brussels-Scheldt Canal, Skybase was appointed to carry out a drone inspection.

Following the collision of a container ship against the Europabrug in Vilvoorde, an immediate urgent inspection of the bridge was needed.

A few hours after the collision, the bridge was thoroughly inspected to determine the state of damage and afterwards ensure safe operation.

With the help of a drone, this inspection could be carried out in a safe and fast way, making it possible to put the bridge back into operation.

The drone inspection could be followed directly on site by the Asset owner from the SkyeBase mobile command vehicle, where the images are streamed LIVE via a 5G connection.
