Visual and thermal inspection of a pipe rack

Pipeline constructions are widely present in the energy, oil &gas, but also in the petrochemicals sector. These pipelines are in many cases at height and often have a distance of several kilometers. To accurately, safely and quickly monitor the state of pipes, drone inspections with visual inspection and thermal cameras are a valuable tool for an inspector. 

At Total Lubricants Ertvelde we carried out a pipe rack inspection for a length of 800 meters where the inspection scope was corrosion, connections and overall condition of the top. 

To report the inspection of the pipe rack a detailed 3D model was used on which the defects were annotated. Where necessary, the 3D model can be further supplemented with comments and inspection results.
